Religion. Christians (48% Protestant, Anglicans, Methodists and Presbyterians; 24% Catholics and 12% other Christians), Islam (11%), specially in the coast and northeast of Kenya.

Political system. Democratic Republic. The President is Uhuru Kenyatta.

Currency. Shilling (KES, Ksh) although accepts USD. 1 USD - 100 KES

Police. Kenya is one of the most corrupt countries. Police checkpoints are frequent on the road. They will find any excuse to stop you and ask for money. In this case, wait and keep calm. Do not give money unless it is the last option.

Roads. Kenya is not very safe for drivers, as main roads are full of bumps without enough light at night. Traffic of tracks is high therefore, most of vans an car overtake in the opposite direction. The risk is high so it's only advisable for experimented drivers. Watch out with matatus, they are coming from everywhere!  Flat tires is usual. 

At nights it's not advisable to walk along the streets. 

Safety. Kenya is safe but you robberies may be. Take care of your phone walking in the street or in a taxi, people steal through the windows.

Transport. To move in Nairobi, Mombasa, Diani or Kisumu use Bolt or Uber. Safeboda is a moto taxi but it's less safe. 

Mpesa, a mobile virtual payment, is the most common way to transfer money using personal phone numbers. Get a SIM Cad in the airport.

Mobile network. Visitors can find network in most places in Kenya.

Visa. Get visa online in the official website and save time in airport (50 USD).

Bargaining is mandatory in this country.

Tips are expected for drivers, guides, cooker services, etc.
